Subject: Feature Request & Gratitude for DPD.

Dear Digital Pali Dictionary Team,

I hope this massage find you well,

I’m currently working on a project to transliterate Pali canonical texts into the Odia script, a direction that, to my knowledge, hasn’t yet been taken by any existing Tripiṭaka edition. My aim is to make these texts accessible to Odia (Odisha, India) readers while preserving their canonical structure and semantic clarity.

To support this, I’ve built and hosted a static website at https://dhammapatha.pages.dev/ using a static site generator (SSG). I have used tripitaka.org XML repo for mysource. The site runs without any dynamic backend or database. I rely entirely on the Digital Pali Dictionary API(https://www.dpdict.net/gd?search=) to fetch word meanings in real time. I’m deeply grateful that your API supports Unicode, which allows me to search meanings even when the Pali text are in Odia script.

One feature I’d love to see added to the API is the ability to double-tap root word fragments in the deconstructor to fetch their meanings—just like in the online version of DPD. This would make the experience much richer for users.

I’m a self-taught novice programmer and an Anthropology major, working with very limited resources. I don’t have the resources to manage a database or build a dynamic backend. So I can't integrate DPD as Sutta Central has done or Tripitaka Reader has done(https://digitalpalidictionary.github.io/integrations/). And another issue is to update this data base everytime DPD add new features or word. So my only way is to rely on API based word search. I request you again to consider my point of integrating double tap meaning search in via API interface.

If there’s any possibility that you could sponsor a domain fee or support me it would mean a lot to me and help sustain the project.

You’re welcome to showcase my website on the DPD dictionary page if you find it aligned with your mission. I have also include a few screenshots to show how DPD is integrated into the site.

Thank you again for making such a powerful tool freely available. It’s been vitals to my work, and I truly appreciate it.

Warm regards,
Abhiraj
